Description:
This valentine, signed by Birdie Curtis, was one of many given to Vivian Tansel (1896-1973) when she was a student at Crafton School located in northwestern Washington Township between 1903 and 1911. Vivian graduated from Danville High School in 1915 and became a school teacher. In 1923 she married Harry Everette Smith; they lived in Mooresville. After Harry died in 1938, Vivian moved to Avon and lived with her mother in the old Crafton Schoolhouse.
