Souvenir of our School was a gift from Beula M. Jones to Cleo Edith Hughes. Beula was Cleo’s 4th grade teacher in 1918.
Beula Myrtle Jones Wilson (1897 – 1993) was a school teacher until her marriage to Harry Verle Wison in 1927. According to her wedding accouncement in the Indianapolis Times Newspaper, Beula was a graduate of Indiana University.
Cleo Edith Hughes was born on May 11, 1908 to Charles W. (1869 - 1959) and Mary Elizabeth (Buchanan) Hughes (1873 - 1939). She married Cecil Smith (1907 - 2005) on March 30, 1929 in Marion County. According to her obituary in the Hendricks County Flyer, she worked as a secretary for Central Indiana Gas District for 25 years, retiring in 1970. Cleo died on November 14, 1999.
